A ground breaking ceremony for Kershaw Industrial Park was held on Tuesday, October 27 at 10 a.m. in Lancaster County. The ceremony included representatives from the Lancaster County Economic Development Corporation, Lancaster County Council, the Town of Kershaw, the Town of Heath Springs, Compass Development Group, and Dennis Corporation. After the short ceremony, project representatives concluded the event by breaking ground with shovels.

Retained by the Lancaster County Economic Development Corporation, Dennis Corporation has completed various services for the Kershaw Industrial Park project located in the Town of Kershaw. Specific responsibilities for this project include engineering design, master planning, site grading, permitting, bidding and award administration for this 115 acre industrial park project. Dennis Corporation also completed the design for the landscaped entrance road and waterline extension into the park, and the clearing and grading for one of the park sites. As the project continues, Dennis Corporation will provide construction administration throughout its duration.

The completion of the Kershaw Industrial Park will serve to foster economic growth in Lancaster County. Approximately 30 miles from I-20, the park offers prospective businesses great accessibility due to its location. Also, with over 30% of the Lancaster County population working within the manufacturing industry as of 2008, potential employers will have exposure to an experienced and qualified workforce in the surrounding areas.

Mr. Jamie Pruitt, PE, Dennis Corporation Project Manager, stated, “We are excited to be involved in this project and the economic growth of Lancaster County. It is our hope that this project will serve to promote future development throughout the County.”
