Recently, Dennis Corporation supported a Roller Derby league event at Jamil Temple in Columbia, SC. The Lowcountry High Rollers and the Columbia QuadSquad came together to compete in this skating competition, which tests one’s agility and endurance.

Over the past few years, Dennis Corporation has  supported the Columbia QuadSquad team by supplying a projector and screen, which are used as the scoreboard during bouts. This specific event was special because one of the Lowcountry High Rollers’ skaters was Dennis Corporation’s Environmental Manager, Ms. Kally McCormick. The event became a Dennis Corporation employee outing to support both Kally’s team and our local team. Employees  participated in tailgating before the Derby where food and beverages were provided by the company. Signs were created in support of both teams, which added to the event’s lively atmosphere.

Kally McCormick aka “TropiKally Punch” (her Roller Derby name) has participated in the Roller Derby since last year, and noted how great it was to see her co-workers come out to show their support for the event. She stated, “Having been with Dennis Corporation for less than a year, it was wonderful to see how encouraging everyone was for me and the sport.”
