Dennis Corporation was recently honored at the 11th annual Zweig Letter 2010 Hot Firm Conference as the 51st most successful architecture/engineering/environmental consulting firm in the U.S. and Canada. Held in Washington, D.C. at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center on October 27 and 28, the celebration recognized the 150 fastest-growing firms which were determined by revenue and earnings performance over the last three years.

During the awards ceremony, Dennis Corporation was also recognized for its charitable contributions to the industry and its community as the recipient of the 2010 Hot Firms Give Back A/E Philanthropy Award. This is the first year the award has been given and recognizes a firm in the architectural and engineering industry who has demonstrated an exemplary commitment to philanthropy. During the past five years, Dennis Corporation has donated more than $250,000 to nearly 100 charitable organizations. In addition to its monetary donations, Dennis Corporation employees also contribute countless hours of volunteer work each year.

As the recipient of the A/E Philanthropy award, Dennis Corporation received a trophy commemorating their efforts and a $2,500 cash donation made to an eligible foundation/charity of its choosing. The firm plans to contribute the cash donation to Family Connection of SC, a non-profit organization committed to strengthening families of children with special needs through parent support. Executive Director for Family Connection of SC, Jackie Richards stated, “We are so proud of Dennis Corporation’s growth and honored to be part of this award. It is dedicated community partners like Dennis Corporation who make it possible for us to provide the life changing experience of parent-to-parent support to nearly 3,000 new families annually.”
Dennis Corporation’s Marketing Director, Monica Scott, stated, “Being recognized by The Zweig Letter with the 51st Most Successful Firm Ranking and receiving the A/E Philanthropy Award is such an honor because it is an amazing testament to our employees and their desire for excellence, not only in the workplace, but also in the communities in which we work and live.”

Receiving recognition as the 51st most successful firm in the industry and being honored with the philanthropy award during its sixth year of business is truly remarkable for Dennis Corporation. Requirements for eligibility on the Hot Firm listing include being headquartered in the U.S. or Canada and having the majority of corporate income derived from architecture, engineering, planning, environmental consulting, or other similar areas.  In a change from previous years, the criteria used for the ranking were not focused solely on revenue growth, but instead took into account four factors, including: percentage change in gross revenue; dollar change in gross revenue; percentage change in pre-tax, pre-bonus profit; and dollar change in pre-tax, pre-bonus profit.

The Zweig Letter is published by ZweigWhite, which was founded in 1988 as a professional resource for leaders in the architecture, engineering and environmental consulting industries. ZweigWhite has been compiling The Zweig Letter Hot Firm List since October 2000 and since that time, the “Hot Firm designation has become synonymous with success in the industry.”
