Dennis Corporation is proud to announce that Monica Scott, director of marketing, was recognized as one of The State newspaper’s annual “20 Under 40”  during a reception on  Feb. 20 at the Capital Club. The ceremony honored 20 exceptional young professionals who have significantly impacted the Midlands through outstanding professional achievement and philanthropic endeavors.
“This award attests to our employees and their desire for excellence, not only in the workplace, but also in the communities in which we work and live,” said Dan Dennis, Dennis Corporation president.
Employed at Dennis Corporation since 2006, Ms. Scott redefines businesswoman. Whether donating her numerous talents to several South Carolina non-profit organizations or mentoring interns at Dennis Corporation, she constantly searches for opportunities to enrich her community.
“It is an honor to be nominated for the Top 20 Under 40 Award and to be actively involved in the Midlands,” said Ms. Scott. “It’s heartening to know that my work makes an impact in the causes I hold dear to my heart.”
Ms. Scott currently serves as the secretary of the board of directors for Family Connection of SC and volunteers with a number of local charities, including Epworth Children’s Home, Pawmetto Lifeline, The Newberry Opera House Guild, Family Connection of South Carolina, St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, The Newberry College Women’s League and the First Responders Remembrance Memorial.
Each year, The State recognizes 20 professionals under the age of 40 who demonstrate notable professional and charitable contributions to the Midlands. This year’s 20 winners were selected from more than 100 applicants.
