Dennis Corporation is proud to announce that Monica Scott, director of marketing, was recognized with the Rising Star award from the 2012 Columbia Regional Business Report’s first Influential Women in Business luncheon on August 23, 2012. The ceremony honored professional women in the Midlands who demonstrate business acumen, superior volunteer service and community leadership. Guests attended a  luncheon with keynote speaker Pamela Lackey, president of AT&T South Carolina.

Employed at Dennis Corporation since 2006, Ms. Scott has helped lead the firm to the forefront of the engineering industry, while donating her numerous talents to several South Carolina non-profit organizations. She currently serves as the secretary of the board of directors for Family Connection of SC and has spent time volunteering with a number of local charities, including Epworth’s Children’s Home, Pawmetto Lifeline, The Newberry Opera House Guild, Family Connection of South Carolina, St. Andrews Lutheran Church, The Newberry College Women’s League and the First Responders Remembrance Memorial.

“Her business experience is only a small percentage of the facets that make Monica the incredible inspiration she is for young professional women everywhere,” said Staci Garrison, marketing associate. “She has perfected the enviable balance between career, community service and family life.”

Monica is 2006 graduate of Newberry College where she received her bachelor’s degree in art with a concentration in graphic design.
