Dennis Corporation is the proud recipient of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) In the Community Award for donating supplies and services to The First Responders Memorial. The AGC in the Community Award honors AGC members who embody charitable giving through hands-on service and donations.

Dennis Corporation worked with the SC Midlands First Responders Memorial Committee, comprising various community leaders and the Irmo Fire Foundation, to donate more than $90,000 in supplies and several hundred man hours.

Recognized across the United States, Columbia’s First Responders Memorial is one of the nation’s premier tributes to September 11, 2001. “The memorial…in South Carolina is one of the best in the country. It makes me, my department and all of New York proud,” said Edward Kilduff, FDNY Department Chief.

The award was presented during the Opening General Session at AGC of America’s 94th Annual Convention on March 6, 2013, in Palm Springs, Calif.

The First Responders Memorial incorporates two 25-foot granite towers and two twisted steel beams from the World Trade Center. The Memorial bears the names of more than 50 first responders, including military, EMS, law enforcement and fire service, who lost their lives following September 11, 2001.

The Irmo Fire Foundation provides funding for Irmo Fire District’s many fire and life safety programs. For more information on the organization’s mission and donation opportunities, visit www.irmofire.org.

This is Dennis Corporation’s second AGC award. In 2008, the firm won the prestigious Pinnacle Award for Best Supplier/Service Company.
