Dennis Corporation strives to remain a consistent, active member within the Fairfield County community and its most recent contribution has been to the Fairfield County Library Summer Reading Kick-Off Party to be held on June 6, 2009. Dennis Corporation made a contribution to the “Be Creative @ Your Library” Fairfield County Summer Reading Program with proceeds going towards the purchase of goody bags used to reward students for signing up for summer reading during the Kick-Off Party.
Lunch for up to 200 people will be provided for those who come to the Kick-Off and sign ups for children to get library cards and participate in the Summer Reading Program will also be offered. The goody bags, offered to any child who signs up for the Program, will contain the materials needed for the Summer Reading program as well as other goodies with any leftover supplies being used to supplement the six week program to encourage youth to read and make library visits.
The Fairfield County Library Summer Reading program was established to motivate children to read books throughout the summer thereby promoting the continuous learning of its youth. To complete the program, young participants must come to the library at least four times during the summer and read at minimum ten hours during the duration of the summer. For doing so, they are rewarded with a reading medal and certificate in observance of their success.
