This June, Dennis Corporation had the unique opportunity to sponsor Palmetto Girls State. Dennis Corporation generously provided the means necessary to send a handful of White Knoll High School rising seniors to the week-long program.
Palmetto Girls State, organized by the American Legion Auxiliary, is a “leadership and citizenship training program, created to further educate outstanding high school students about state and local government. They also learn about the principles of citizenship and civil service from guest speakers, expert panels and a service project”.1
After the program, Dennis Corporation received several heart-felt thank you letters from the girls chosen to attend. One student said, “I cannot even begin to describe how excited I was to attend Palmetto Girls State. I have always wondered how government worked in real life. You made my dream come true by allowing me to attend”.
