Dennis Corporation recently accepted an award for their work with Benedict College, hosting two engineering interns as part of the School of Work Internship Program (SWIP). This is the second year that Benedict College has administered the Spring SWIP Program. Dennis Corporation was delighted to participate in this program and be recognized with the Business Opportunity and Workforce Development Center Award for their support of the program.

Dennis Corporation’s Expert Witness Manager, Mr. Alan Davis, attended the awards ceremony on behalf of the firm on July 17, 2008. Dennis Corporation is proud to have been involved in this program and in all education developmental programs. As part of its core values of advancing the educational pursuits of high school and college students, Dennis Corporation regularly participates in internship and job shadowing opportunities with numerous local colleges and universities including not only Benedict College, but also the Citadel and the University of South Carolina.

SWIP is a ten week program sponsored by the South Carolina Transportation (SCDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). To be selected for the program, interns had to complete an application process which was extremely competitive and those selected were judges on an entry essay, their grade point average and letters of recommendation.
