Dennis Corporation Receives SBE Certification
Upon submittal of required documentation, Dennis Corporation has received certification from SCDOT as a Small Business Enterprise (SBE) for the year 2016.
SCDOT enacted the SBE element as part of the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program in order to stimulate small business involvement in the state. The benefits brought forth in this program include a more competitive bidding process, more contracting opportunities, and participation of all eligible small business without concern of gender or race.
To be SBE certified, a pursuing firm must submit required documentation that verifies specific information about revenue and the owner’s active involvement within the firm. The firm also has to act independently and should not share facilities or other resources with non-SBE firms.
In accordance with this certification, Dennis Corporation meets eligibility standards in the following areas of work: Transportation Engineering Services, Surveying, Construction, Engineering, and Inspection (CE&I), Construction Management, and Building Inspection Services.
