Dennis Corporation was recently selected as a Free Enterprise Honoree by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. This designation is part of the 2011 Blue Ribbon Small Business Award competition hosted by the U.S. Chamber and sponsored by Sam’s Club®.

Based on their entry for the Blue Ribbon Award, the Chamber recognized Dennis Corporation as a Free Enterprise Honoree, commending the firm for its strong business practices and contributions to the economy. In correspondence about the award, U.S. Chamber representative Margaret Shepard stated, “We are proud to recognize your business’ success story and are impressed with your company’s accomplishments.”

Each year, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s DREAM BIG Small Business of the Year award honors the nation’s top job creators and recognizes their significant contributions as drivers of economic growth. During the award competition, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce selects 75 Blue Ribbon Small Business Award winners, with seven Blue Ribbon businesses named finalists for the DREAM BIG Small Business of the Year Award. In addition, 25 businesses are named Free Enterprise Honorees for their strong business practices and contributions to the economy.

In order to apply for this prestigious award, eligible small business applicants must have fewer than 250 employees and gross revenues of less than $20 million in the prior year. Applicants are judged on the following criteria: Staff Training and Motivation; Community Involvement; Customer Service; and Business Strategies and Goals. This year’s DREAM BIG Small Business of the Year Award program was sponsored by Sam’s Club.
