Since its inception in 2005, Dennis Corporation and its employees have made it their top priority to give back to the communities in which they live and work, and Fairfield County has been no exception. Beginning in early 2006, Dennis Corporation formed a close relationship with Fairfield County, serving as their on-call engineering firm. Dennis Corporation is not only working for Fairfield County, but Dennis Corporation also employs a number of Fairfield county citizens. Six Dennis Corporation employees live in Fairfield County; providing Dennis Corporation with unique local insight into all aspects of the County. Charles Arndt, Danny Ballentine and Caleb Robinson, of the Construction Services Department; Luke Henderson, a survey technician; Boyd Brown, Business Development Manager and Berry Mattox, Traffic Manager, all live in different areas of Fairfield County.
In addition Dennis Corporation seeks to assist the community through supporting community programs such as internships and job shadowing programs. In 2007 Dennis Corporation sponsored a job shadowing event for two Fairfield Central High School students. This experience provided the students with valuable real world experience in the engineering field. Many of the students who intern with Dennis Corporation enjoy the experience so much that they often return to work with Dennis Corporation full time. In the summer of 2006, Traffic Manager, Berry Mattox served as a Dennis Corporation intern. Mr. Mattox stated “My internship with Dennis Corporation was a great introduction to the profession of civil engineering. The company’s close connection with Fairfield County provided me with the unique experience to work on projects in my hometown. It was truly exciting to work with a firm growing as fast and efficiently as Dennis Corporation, therefore I decided to return to take on a full-time role.” CEI Technician, Caleb Robinson, has also maintained a connection between Fairfield County and Dennis Corporation. As a Fairfield Central High and Fairfield County Career Center graduate, Caleb currently performs QC inspections for the Fairfield County Road Improvement Program. Furthermore in 2008, Dennis Corporation has committed to sponsoring two paid internships and two job shadowing opportunities for students attending school in Fairfield County School District.
In 2007, Dennis Corporation recognized the need to open a satellite office in Winnsboro. In October 2007, Dennis Corporation opened its office doors, offering a home base for local Dennis Corporation employees, such as Danny Ballentine, as well as allowing Dennis Corporation personnel the opportunity to provide prompt response and service to Fairfield County citizens. Dennis Corporation’s increased presence within the center of the county illustrates their continued commitment to providing excellent client service. Dennis Corporation has also been honored with several different awards for their successful projects within Fairfield County and hopes to continue their innovative and cost effective ideas in 2008.
