Dennis Corporation intern Alyssa Hunting recently signed with The Citadel to play golf and she will become a part of the Bulldog Golf roster beginning in Fall 2010. Alyssa, a senior at Brookland – Cayce High School, has been interning with Dennis Corporation in the Construction Management Division since December 2009.
Alyssa’s interest in The Citadel began during her junior year in high school when her golf coach suggested she consider attending the school and playing competitive golf there. Later, when she began working as an intern at Dennis Corporation, Alyssa was able to gain valuable insight from various employees whom attended The Citadel and was impressed by the education and high level of personal and professional development that one achieves by attending the school.
“It has been a wonderful opportunity to work alongside many Citadel alumni at Dennis Corporation. Everyone has been very supportive of my decision and talking with them reaffirmed my ideals of what an honor it would be to attend. I cannot wait to one day too be called a Citadel alumnus, sharing my own experiences and passion of the school with others, just as the employees I have spoken with here have done with me,” Alyssa stated. While at The Citadel, Alyssa plans to major in Criminal Justice.
Dennis Corporation has numerous Citadel alumni including President, Dan Dennis, who played an integral part in Alyssa’s consideration of The Citadel. From writing a recommendation letter to networking with various Citadel alumni, Mr. Dennis and other Alumni at the firm assisted in making Alyssa’s dream of being a student of the Citadel, a reality.
Dennis Corporation is a continuous supporter of The Citadel and has given much of their time and support towards the school and its endeavors. The firm employs six Citadel graduates, has had several students complete internships with the company and has donated to The Citadel scholarship fund.
Their past support also includes sending care packages to deployed Citadel Troops during the Christmas season. Additionally, Dennis Corporation has also been an active participant in events on campus such as the Annual Citadel Professional Activities Event (PAE) career fair. Dennis Corporation is proud to be a supporter of The Citadel and its students, both past and present, through its scholarship fund and other programs.
