Dennis Corporation’s Director of Economic Development, Mr. States Clawson, SCCED, has been appointed as Chair of the South Carolina Economic Development Association’s Certified Economic Developer Re-certification Sub-Committee (SCEDA SCCED).
SCEDA offers an advanced symposium, which grants a South Carolina Certified Economic Developer certification upon completion of the program. Once certified, members must re-certify every three years to maintain their status. The guidelines for re-certification are based on a point system. These points are earned by attending SCEDA meetings to attending seminars and education courses.
Mr. Clawson will be head of the sub-committee that determines the requirements of re-certification and which members will qualify. He recently retired from the SC Department of Commerce and joined the Dennis Corporation family in June 2010.
Honored to receive this appointment, Mr. Clawson stated, “I appreciate the confidence placed in me by David Cuda of Red Rock Developments with this appointment. Chairing this important sub-committee is an excellent opportunity for me to give back to SCEDA, our state organization which does so much for the economic well-being of South Carolina.”
