On August 10, 2009 the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce announced the 2009-2010 Leadership Columbia class.  Dennis Corporation’s Chief Operating Officer, Derek Riley, was among those accepted into the program. Leadership Columbia participants have backgrounds in many different areas of the community such as business, government, education, environment and the arts. For over 30 years, this program has offered opportunities for Greater Columbia’s promising leaders to understand how their community works, build relationships with fellow leaders and become inspired to focus their talents in ways to best serve the Midlands.

Only 65 business and community leaders were selected to participate in the nine month program. The class meets one day per month, during which participants take place in discussions and activities to better understand their community and its needs. Mr. Riley stated, “I am very excited to have been chosen to participate in the Leadership Columbia program. In addition to getting to know other members of the community, I look forward to getting involved with projects to help make Columbia a better place.”
