Dennis Corporation Donates and Provides Services to Fairfield County’s Disabilities and Special Needs Board’s New Facility

fcdsnbDennis Corporation has generously provided pro bono construction consultation to the Fairfield County Disabilities and Special Needs Board (FCDSNB). Mr. Dan Dennis reviewed building plans and consulted with the architect for the project, which will involve the construction of a new 10,000 sq. ft. facility. The Board anticipates that this building will help with their ultimate mission to serve all citizens in Fairfield County with existing disabilities, such as mental retardation, autism, survivors of head and spinal cord injuries and other lifelong disabilities. It is the goal of the FCDSNB to prevent the occurrence of primary and secondary disabilities of these individuals, to utilize person-centered practices, and develop, deliver and coordinate quality services that will enhance the individual’s life, while utilizing the principles of full community inclusion.

A majority of the funding for this $2,000,000 project will come from state and federal grants. The remaining portions will come from corporate and individual donors. While fundraising plans are being developed, Dennis Corporation donated $1,000 to the kick-off the project and presented the check to Shirley Greene, the Vice-Chairman of the Fairfield County Disabilities and Special Needs Board.
