Dennis Corporation attended the Count on Concrete Conference hosted by Clemson University at Midlands Technical College in Columbia, S.C. To kick off the conference, Mr. Joe O’Grady of the Portland Cement Association (PCA) presented Fairfield County Transportation Committee Chairman (CTC), Mr. James McGraw, with the PCA’s 2009 Sustainability Leadership Award.

Dennis Corporation has been working closely with Mr. McGraw and the Fairfield CTC to improve their County’s roadways. During the 2008 Road Improvement Program, Mr. McGraw chose to utilize full depth reclamation, a cost-saving and environmentally friendly process for paving existing dirt roadways.

The Sustainability Leadership Award honors those that go out of their way to incorporate cost saving and environmentally friendly solutions through the use of concrete. The process recommended by Dennis Corporation recycles the existing road materials into the construction of the newly paved roadway, saving time and money.

McGraw was nominated for the award by Joe O’Grady and both worked closely with Dennis Corporation Marketing Associate Mr. Jason Grant to submit the award application. After the conference, Mr. Grant congratulated Mr. McGraw by stating, “It was great to spend time with Mr. O’Grady and Mr. McGraw to submit the award application. Mr. McGraw is truly deserving and I’m glad to  see him win such a prestigious award on behalf of the Fairfield CTC.”
