In recognition of Dennis Corporation’s high level of commitment to the children of Columbia, the City of Columbia Parks & Recreation Department designated Dennis Corporation as Corporate Sponsor of the Year on May 21st in honor of their continued support of its sponsoring program.
The City of Columbia Parks & Recreation sponsoring program receives donations from local corporate sponsors and uses the funds to give needy children the opportunity to participate in various physical and educational activities and events. An advocate of giving underprivileged children the opportunity to learn important skills and develop themselves personally so that they may be successful, Dennis Corporation was proud to be a participant in the sponsoring program.
When speaking of the importance of the firm’s involvement in programs such as these, President of Dennis Corporation, Dan Dennis, stated, “With the help of Dennis Corporation, hundreds of needy children were able to enroll in athletic, summer camp and educational activities who otherwise could not have afforded to attend. Our children are the greatest assets we have. Without them, what we do today is in vain.”
The award was presented to Dennis Corporation by Mayor-Elect, Steve Benjamin, Assistant City Manager, Allyson Baker and Director of Parks and Recreation, Damon McDuffie. The City of Columbia Parks and Recreation Department’s focus is on teaching and developing young athletes through a variety of sports, teaching them important skills such as sportsmanship and teamwork.
